Hello!! Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet and coming here to find out more about me.
When I first started my blog I wrote a bit of an introduction which you can read here but if you’re anything like me you’ll want to know more about emmaology.
I’m Emma, early 30’s. I’m married to Dan, slightly earlier 30’s (which he loves to rub in my face) and Mummy to Oliver (8) and Grace (11 months). I’ll soon be finishing maternity leave and returning to my job as a finance assistant which I’m feeling apprehensive about. Prior to Grace arriving I was working full time but I’ve now reduced my hours so hopefully I’ll still be able to fit a bit of blogging in!
I started emmaology in November 2016 after talking to Dan one night. I thought blogging would be a great way to keep memories of Oliver and Grace as they grow up, I just wish I’d done it sooner! I’ve really enjoyed blogging over the last few months, I’ve learnt a lot about it all works (it’s harder than it looks) and there’s still loads I don’t know. I feel like talking about our lives and experiences is good for me and if you like reading about it then I must be doing something right!
Q & A
I thought the best way for you to really get to know me was a quick Q&A, so here goes…
1.What’s your favourite food?
At first I thought this was hard, but who am I kidding. Chocolate! Chocolate bars, chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, all the chocolate! I also love pizza, cheese, BBQ sauce, but chocolate has to be number 1.
2.What’s your favourite TV show?
Game of Thrones. Easy peasy. I love it, Dan loves it, we have rewatched the seasons so many times. We had touches of Game of Thrones to our wedding and even had a table plan at our wedding which used the map of Westeros! Do you watch it, who’s your favourite? I have a bit of a crush on Daenerys.
3. What can’t you do?
If you asked Dan I’m sure he would say there’s lots of things, like making a decision or remembering things, and my parents would probably say I don’t know how to shut up at times (what can I say, I’m a talker), but I can’t whistle which is a bit annoying. I could whistle when I was younger then I had braces fitted and ever since, no whistling!
4. Do you prefer tea or coffee?
None! I hate hot drinks. A lot of people find this weird but I just can’t stand them. I hate the smell of tea so I refuse to make it the majority of the time (much to Dan’s annoyance). I don’t even drink hot chocolate, which considering how much I love chocolate is strange.
5. Are you a hoarder or a chucker?
A hoarder. Dan’s a chucker. I’m quite sentimental, so I find it hard to get rid of things which remind me of special occassions, and I always thing I can find another use for things. Dan hates it, and I seem to have passed on the trait to Oliver which is frustrating for everyone!
6. Where would your dream holiday be?
We went to Mexico on our honeymoon which was AMAZING, I would love to go back. But I think number 1 on my list would be Florida. I’d love to take Oliver and Grace to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. I’m a big Disney fan, and I love theme parks, but we’ll be waiting until Grace is old enough to appreciate it.
7. What is your most used emoji?
According to my iphone, it’s the crying laughing face 😂. I use the normal smiley face quite a lot, and definitely the sleepy face… I’m surprised that’s not top of the list!
8. If you could do something in your life more, what would it be? What would you do less?
One thing I would do more would be relax. I’ve been off work for almost a year, thank you maternity leave, but I’ve not found it relaxing. I haven’t had a day “off” since before Grace was born. I’d love some time just to relax, to not be in demand for a while. Fingers crossed, ey?
I would like to do less housework. I mean I don’t do loads, keeping Oliver and Grace occupied does take up most of my time, but I hate dusting and changing beds, and don’t even talk to me about ironing! I’m not going to spend money on a cleaner though, so I guess I’m stuck.
9. What’s your favourite Social Media?
Instagram without a doubt. I love the “stories” feature, how it shows real life, and I think Instagram has a really friendly atmosphere. If you don’t use it, you’re missing out!
10. If you had £1,000,000 what would you do?
I’d be partly really boring and pay off the mortgage and other bills, put money into savings for the future, but I’d also go on some epic holidays. I’d obviously take Dan and the children away, but I’d also take my family away, Dan’s family somewhere, and try and do a break with our friends… without kids! Ah, what it is to dream!
I hope you’ve enjoyed finding out a bit more about me, if there’s anything else you’d like to know or if you just want to chat you can find me on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, or you can contact me here.
